We are a collective of entrepreneurs - backed by the founders of bunq, MessageBird, and Adyen - who strive to support people of all nationalities in a crisis or conflict by taking action to meet essential needs and support humane and dignified living conditions (peopleforpeople.info). We do this by acting quickly in crisis situations and delivering aid where it is needed most. We also organize events that are designed to connect people, deliver essential items, and provide a moment of hope for people seeking asylum in the Netherlands.
As a project lead you are responsible for the scope, planning and delivery of our projects based on our strategic plan. You will work closely with the Foundation Director and other team members to help create our plan and must enjoy prioritizing and executing projects. One example is our ongoing Rolling Aid event. You are responsible for making a project plan, taking inventory of the specific needs, and working together with the onsite location manager. You will also take the lead in transporting the donated goods and set-up during the event.
Responsibilities
Qualify new locations and manage the core projects/plan for People for People. This includes Rolling Aid Days, delivery of urgent needs, and more
Manage inventory, packing, delivery, and organization of donations
Responsible for guiding and directing volunteers who help with inventory and events
Communicate and organize with on-site location managers, donation partners, and other external stakeholders
Adapt quickly in crisis situations to work towards solutions and keep focus. For example, the project managers were able to arrange transportation, coordinate volunteers, and sort donations within 24 hours after the earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria
Job requirements
Available 32 - 40 hours per week with immediate start date
3-7 month freelance or work contract (negotiable)
Past experience working in dynamic work environments
Experience working with refugees or in crisis situations (preferred)
Solution focused and always thinking about how we can best meet needs and think of out-of-the box ideas
Proven work experience in logistics or project management
Fluency in Dutch and English
Someone who loves driving and meeting new people
Flexible! Ability to switch priorities quickly and adapt, especially in the event of a crisis situation
