  3. Experience in a fast-paced (start-up) environment – comfortable with an entrepreneurial approach and the dynamic nature of such settings.

Role Overview

As Content Manager, you’ll play a key role in amplifying our impact and visibility. From crafting compelling content to managing social media, you’ll tell powerful stories that elevate our brand and drive meaningful engagement. Your work will directly raise awareness, inspire action, and generate support for our mission. You’ll collaborate with our Marketing Communications Lead, freelancers, and partners to ensure messaging is aligned, impactful, and reflective of our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Develop high-quality content for social media, blogs, websites, newsletters, and other materials. Manage the content calendar, delivering on-brand, compelling stories.
  • Social Media Management: Plan, write, and schedule daily posts across platforms. Build engagement, spark conversations, and foster an active online community.
  • Campaign Execution: Create and implement campaigns that support events, initiatives, and key messaging. Ensure content aligns with goals and values.
  • Experimentation & Testing: Set up and execute A/B tests and other experiments to optimize content performance. Use data insights to refine and improve future strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and freelancers (designers, videographers, copywriters) to create cohesive, impactful content.
  • Staying Informed: Monitor global news, emerging crises, and trending topics to craft timely, relevant content and bring fresh ideas.

  • Branding: Uphold and implement our updated brand identity across all content for consistency and clarity.

Job requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years in content marketing, copywriting, or communications, ideally in non-profits or mission-driven roles.
  • Content Expertise: Proven ability to create engaging short-form and long-form content. Bonus if skilled in design, video editing, or photography.
  • Social Media Savvy: Experienced with multiple platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.), crafting content that resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Analytical Skills: Knowledge of A/B testing and digital tools (e.g., Canva, Google Analytics, Hootsuite) to refine strategies and boost engagement.
  • Language: Strong English skills (written and spoken); Dutch is a plus.
  • Self-Starter: Thrives independently, manages multiple projects, and communicates effectively.
  • Adaptable: Comfortable with shifting priorities in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
  • Collaborative: Builds strong relationships with stakeholders and teams.
  • Passionate: Deeply committed to social impact and making a difference.

What we offer

  • Flexible Position: A part-time role (24-32 hours per week) with the option to work freelance or on payroll, offering a salary range in line with NGO standards of €2,500 - €3,200 (based on a full-time equivalent). In case of payroll; you will also receive an 8% holiday allowance.
  • Hybrid Work Model: Approximately 50% office-based and 50% remote. We value in-person collaboration at our Amsterdam office but also understand the benefits of working from home. Field visits for interviews and site inspections will also be part of your schedule.
